Mr. Yagi was born in Japan and lived there until he was 17 years old, when he came to the United States. While in law school, he began working at the firm, which at that time was involved in a multi-million-dollar trade secret case against one of the largest electronics manufacturers in the world. In this case, he played an instrumental role in discovery and gathering evidence from voluminous documents, nearly half of which were written in Japanese. Throughout his tenure at the firm, Mr. Yagi also has successfully handled and assisted in a number of contract disputes and negotiations, securities litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and a variety of other civil matters at trial and appellate court levels as well as in mediation. Mr. Yagi has enjoyed and continues to enjoy assisting non-profit organizations and individuals in the Japanese communities in the Houston area, often on a pro bono basis. With this background, Mr. Yagi is one of the very few attorneys in the United States who are native to Japan and can provide unique perspectives in litigation and other legal matters involving Japanese companies and individuals.
