Mr. Yagi was born in Japan and lived there until he was 17 years old. He completed his high school and college education in Massachusetts and moved to Texas in 1996 to attend law school. Throughout his tenure at the firm, Mr. Yagi has successfully managed and assisted in a wide variety of civil litigation matters in state and federal trial and appellate courts as well as in mediation and arbitration, including contract and business disputes; homeowners, automobile, and liability insurance coverage; Uniform Commercial Code-related disputes; personal injury and wrongful death claims; landlord-tenant disputes; property tax protests; products liability; promissory note and other lending issues; employment disputes; investor complaints; premises liability; securities litigation and arbitration; medical malpractice; and debt negotiations. Mr. Yagi also advises clients on corporate law matters such as entity formation, corporate governance, various contract issues, fiduciary duty, employment law, trade secrets and other confidentiality protection, insurance coverage, and multi-state considerations. Mr. Yagi also enjoys assisting non-profit organizations and individuals in the Japanese community in the Houston area and beyond, often on a pro bono basis. With this background, Mr. Yagi is one of the very few attorneys in the United States who are native to Japan and can provide a unique perspective in litigation and other legal matters involving Japanese companies and individuals.
